All drawings were completed in Clip Studio Paint.
Light and color study. My goal was to discover just how much light is needed to convey form while capturing subtle details. Hard and soft edges here were important to distinguish what was and was not in focus.
Color study. I wanted to say something about the brilliant highlight created such a defining motion to her figure. While doing this, I learned more about the play of saturation in the shadow versus the light, and how subtle changes can have a large impact on what reads as shadow and bounce light.
Lighting and contrast study. The goal was to find difference between soft and hard edges to get a certain feeling from his gaze.
Short color study on environments. My goal here was to get better at defining shapes though color instead of line, choosing what to give detail to and what to let fall to the distance.
Entry for HoYoverse Black Swan Art Contest. My goal was to create something like a still frame from an animation, capturing a moment of emotion.
